Fascinate-U Children's Museum is a hands-on museum which allows children the opportunity to learn through play. Based on a mini-city format, visitors can run a grocery store, man a 911 Center, or anchor the news on television.

After Lt. Hugh Wellons was killed in Vietnam in 1966, the army shipped home his crate of personal and military effects. The family left the crate relatively undisturbed for more than 40 years. The story has become a stirring reminder of the meaning of Memorial Day. The Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex will display Lt. Wellons' crate and much of its contents in a special lobby exhibit through May 31.

Will be on display in the Upstairs East Gallery of the main museum building. The photographic exhibit will showcase the Vietnam experiences of local men and women who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines by viewing the pictures that they took to capture their tours of duty.
Each Saturday in May, two of the following films will be shown at 1:30 p.m.: Paths of Glory, Dr. Strangelove, The Great Dictator and Hurt Locker.
