Unlimited carnival rides and entertainment are included in one low admission price. Live entertainment includes country, rock, latino, blues & variety bands. Children under 2 are free. For more info, call 396-2196.
31 Days of Glory kicks off at Fascinate-U Children’s Museum with guest speaker Dana Canedy (see below), music by Jon and Caroline Parsons, and a 6’x12’ patriotic mural for children to color. Admissioin to the kickoff is free. Admission into the museum is free until 2 p.m.
The May Day Festival is a fun and educational celebration of spring and our earth! Highlights include live snakes, pony rides, a jumping castle, carriage rides and a milk carton boat flotilla. Visitors can make and take home crafts such as May flower baskets, headbands, rain sticks, water wheels, decorative picture cards and a patriotic mobile. Activities include May pole dances, bubble-making, face-painting by Dogwood queens, and more! For admission prices, please contact Cape Fear Botanical Gardens.
As part of Military Families First, visitors will be able to make a Blue Star Banner. Banners are set in windows of homes where a family member serves in the military during a time of war. Activity is free with admission.
On May 30-31, the Fayetteville Downtown Alliance will host the 10th Annual Glory Days Downtown Memorial Day Celebration. Our family oriented activities will include arts, crafts, and food vendors. We begin on the 30th, with an 8 p.m. Sunday Movie in the Park. On Memorial Day, festivities will include a Pancake Breakfast (7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., $5 per plate) , a formal Ceremony at Freedom Memorial Park, a car show, bake sale, live music, the 'Patriot's Crit' Bicycle Races, a Kids Corner , vintage military equipment and gear exhibits, carriage rides, and more. Free admission.
